An Annotation of Socialist Culture and Its Significance in a Perspective of Practical Philosophy  Yah Me ngwei 6  Marx＇s inference that social life is an essentially practical experience includes inherently a confirmation of the spirit peculiarity and cultural property of social life. Social culture has various existence patterns, but its substance is the universal spirit which is contained inherently in the process and results of human practice, so- cialized and externalized through social communication. The core of social culture is values; while the most ba- sic value is autonomy and freedom of the person as a practical subject. Social culture has an ontological signifi- cance in the development of society, which constitutes the cultural machinery of social developing. The tenden- cy of social development includes inevitably the value choice of historical subject.
