It is the basic condition for establishing Social sciences to find out its objective entity. The paper probes into the nature of the social sciences＇ object through a comparison, asserts that belief is precisely the entity, and then puts forward a belief theory consequently. The author carried out a further investigation to examine whether the term ＇belief＇ is appropriate in the epistemological context. In addition, it is discussed that there is a fundamental difference between the social action theory and the belief theory. The author indicates some contradiction embed in the social action theory. He claims that putting forward the belief theory will realize the demarcation between the scope of the social sciences and humanities and the scope of biology.
