A Review on Donnellan＇ s Criticism of Russell and Strawson＇ s Theories of Descriptions
 Mr. Donnellan argued that, relatively to different contexts, the functions of a definite description can be divided into referential use and attributive use, but Russell＇s and Strawson＇s theories of description did not con- sider the factor of context enough and ignored the distinction between the uses of description. We basically a- gree to Donnellan＇s criticism of Russell, but not to his criticism of Strawson, because there were many misun- derstanding points in it.
